Tonganoxie City Parks

VFW Park – This beautiful park was built by the local VFW post. It covers about 15 acres and is located at 900 E. First St. It is a quiet wooded area with picnic facilities, flower gardens, an exercise trail and shelters. It has access to city water and also features a stage for ceremonies and other functions. The park also features a memorial obelisk with the names of those from our area.

Chieftain Park users can walk the 1/2-mile trail on the outer boundary of the park. The trail is linked to the VFW exercise trail with both trails covering 1.2 miles. The trail has six stations of fitness equipment along it. The park has playground equipment complete with swings and a climber. Chieftain Park includes soccer fields, lighted tennis, basketball, sand volleyball, and horseshoe courts.
