Troy-Hayner Cultural Center

When your eyes rest on this gorgeous Tudor mansion adjacent to the Miami County Courthouse, it will take your breath away. The Hayner mansion was built in 1914 by the widow of William Hayner, the former owner of the Hayner Distillery Company. The architectural style is “Norman Romanesque Revival”, but most Americans would call it “Tudor” with its wood and adobe exterior, beveled glass, marble fireplaces, ballroom, wood trim and carvings, and stained glass. The building is truly a work of art!

In 1942, Mrs. Hayner willed the mansion to the Troy Board of Education to be used as a library, museum, or for other educational and cultural purposes. It served as the Public Library from 1943 to 1976, but has since been restored and in its new incarnation is known as the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center. It has blessed the community with many years of art classes, traveling art exhibits, speakers, music, art programs and seasonal special events.
