White Mountain National Forest

This national forest stretches from the White Mountains in New Hampshire to the foothills of Maine’s western mountains. We have miles of hiking and snowmobile trails and 23 wooded campgrounds. Come fish, hike, look for moose, bird watch, or picnic by the ponds. We have family hikes, challenging climbs, and scenic drives. Our visitor center offers kids activities, nature trails, interpretive programs, and exhibits about Maine’s natural resources.
