Wirt County Pioneer Day

5th Annual Pioneer Day. October 16th. Visit Elizabeth, WV’s Courthouse square and mingle with pioneers, union and confederate soldiers. Hear the sounds of hit and miss engines. There will be live bluegrass music, games for children, a bed race, and a car show on the Wirt High School lot. The historic Beauchamp-Newman Museum and Little Kanawha Hotel will be open for tours. Vendors will be serving “good eats” and selling many handmade items. Exhibitors will be making apple butter, spinning wool, displaying quilts and cooking meals and baking cobblers over an open fire. Join the fun-filled activities and experience the hospitality of Wirt County as it takes pride in recreating its heritage.
