Woodruff Lake Hunting
The 9,465 acres at Alabama River Lakes is a good opportunity to enjoy the various kinds of game and non-game wildlife. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers manages approximately 5600 acres of this public use land, along the beautiful Alabama River, for bowhunting and small game hunting. There are eight areas open to hunting at Woodruff Lake, and seventeen areas at Dannelly Reservoir and Claiborne Lake. Only archery or shotgun (size 6 shot or smaller) hunting is allowed in harvesting game animals. Hunters must obtain a valid State hunting license and an Alabama River Lakes Hunting Permit.
