Beeville

Beeville, located on Poesta Creek, was originally named Maryville for Mary Hefferman, the only survivor of a family killed in 1853. Beeville became the seat of Bee County in 1860 and was renamed “Beeville-on-the-Poesta.” The town is the largest retail center in a six-county area. It is the home of Bee County College, Chase Field Criminal Justice Complex, and various manufacturing industries.

Hunters take deer, wild turkey, quail, dove and javelina when in season. Beevilled also offers freshwater fishing in area rivers.
