Brownfield

Brownfield was established as the county seat of Terry County in 1904, and was named for Col. Benjamin Franklin Terry, the Confederate leader of Terry’s Texas Rangers. Brownfield is the principal incorporated town in the county, situated at the intersection of five highway routes. It is the retail, medical, and commercial center for the crop, livestock, and oil-producing area.
