Andes Manta
The renowned South American folk ensemble Andes Manta will bring its dynamic presentation to the Exhibit Hall at Historic Fort Steuben. Playing more than 35 traditional instruments, Andes Manta brings to life the ancient culture of the Incas and their predecessors, a people focused on the natural world. These Ecuadorian musicians perform a variety of traditional rhythms, from the haunting melodies of the high Andes to the joyous dance rhythms of Indian village festivals. They weave the magic of their sound into a trip to the Amazon rain forest complete with chirping frogs and calling birds.
This free concert is funded and presented as part of the Ohio Arts Council's International Music & Performing Arts in Communities Tour in partnership with the Ohio Arts Presenters Network.
