Annual Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo

Jun
26–28

The Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo is the oldest and largest fishing tournament in the country. The first tournament was held in 1928. The event has had more than 3,200 participants over the past several years and is an official Southern Kingfish event. The event is a project of the Mobile Jaycees of which all the members are volunteers and contribute their time and efforts to put on the tournament. There are 30 categories in the event containing both inshore and offshore species of fish. The awards package is valued at more than $400,000.00 and includes three boat, motor and trailer packages. The major sponsors of the event include Coca Cola, Contender Boats, Yamaha Motor Corp., Loadmaster Trailers, Polar Boats, Sailfish Boats, Furuno & C& H Lures, to name a few. It is one of the premiere saltwater fishing events in the country and everyone is invited to come and participate or just come and enjoy the festivities and see the fish as they are brought in to the weigh station.
