Annual Civil War Re-enactment

Flower City Park hosts an annual Civil War re-enactment in October. Individuals from a three state area travel to Palmyra to establish camps representing Union and the Confederate army units and to participate in re-enacting mock battles and other events that actually occurred in Palmyra during that time period. Historically accurate equipment, tents, and horses are used in all re-enactments. Participants wear Civil War period clothing during the weekend. The event is sponsored jointly by Palmyra Civil War Re-enactment Association and Parks and Recreation.
