Annual Duck and Geese Migration

Feb–Mar
15–16

Each year, millions of ducks and geese pass through Nebraska during migration, mainly between mid-February and mid-April, with a smaller movement in the fall. Along the Central Flyway, an estimated 5-15 million waterfowl – such as snow geese, Canada geese, and white-fronted geese – stop in the Rainwater Basin and along the Platte River to rest and replenish their energy before continuing their journey.
