Annual Kite Day

May
9

There is no better way to spend the day than flying a kite! Kite Day attracts people who like to fly kites as well as people who just enjoy watching kites of all shapes and sizes twirl in the sky. Everyone is welcome! Hours are from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the third Saturday in May.

Kite Day is very informal; some people bring very large and colorful kites, but all kinds of kites can be flown. The event is held at the Heritage Park’s parking lot just off of Highway B-14 on the South edge of Forest City, Iowa. There is no admission charge and restrooms at the park are open. In case of high winds or no wind, the event will be cancelled. Please contact Jim Oulman at 641-585-4332 if you have any questions.
