Flint Ridge – Ohio Historical Society

Flint Ridge park is located at the site of one of America’s most ancient and widely used flint quarries. Ohio’s high-quality flint was of great economic importance to the pre-historic Indians of eastern North America. This area, where the red, yellow, brown, and cream-colored gemstone is readily accessible at the surface, was on an extensive trade route.

Several quarry pits may be seen in the park today, and the museum is built over one of them. There are several hiking trails and a paved nature trail with braille and regular text for visitors looking for a beautiful hiking area.
