Louisiana Watermelon Festival

When a whole town comes together to dance in the street, arm wrestle, race tricycles, crown a queen, throw a parade, spit watermelon seeds for distance and, of course, celebrate its prized agricultural crop, on thing is certain – that’s the sort of town that knows how to throw a festival. For over 50 summers, the Farmerville Jacyees have put the watermelon front and center during the last weekend of July.
