Muskingum Riverfest

Sponsored by the Muskingum River Parkway, ODNR Divisions of Watercraft & Wildlife and the Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, this year’s day-long festival will highlight the natural beauty, recreational, historic and ecological value of the Muskingum River and its being Ohio’s 2nd Official Water Trail. The Muskingum River Lock & dam system is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

A variety of artists and craftsmen will have their work on display and for sale. And new this year are a variety of hands-on activities including candlemaking, paper marbling, animal identification, wool spinning and wood working. In addition, Gander Mountain representatives will be onsite demonstrating the latest in non-motorized watercraft. Free pontoon boat rides will be ongoing throughout the day. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will have wildlife experts on hand throughout the day doing programs on Birds of Prey and a member of the Southern Ohio Storytellers will be spinning yarns and telling tales of life on Muskingum River.
