Neuse River Day Dragon Boat Festival

May

Dragon Boat Racing is coming to New Bern !! Come to Union Point Park for a festival to celebrate the Neuse River. For the first time ever, New Bern will host the wildly growing sport of dragon boat racing. In addition, there will be river cruises, food vendors, childrens activities and educational & commercial exhibits. Join us for a fun day in the park & support the work of the Neuse RIVERKEEPER Foundation.

Tuen Ng Festival or the Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional and statutory holiday originating in China. The festival now occurs on the 5th day of the 5th month of the traditional Chinese calendar, the source of its alternate name, the Double Fifth Festival.[5] The Chinese calendar is lunisolar, so the date varies from year to year on the Gregorian calendar.
