Open House and Plant Sale at Luther Burbank’s Experiment Farm

Shop for your winter veggie starts as well as Burbank plants, Heritage jam from Burbank fruits, and choose from the Farm’s excess tools. Enjoy Lilith Rogers recreating the life of Rachel Carson on Sunday, September 29th at 1:00 PM. Using Carson’s own words, Rogers brings to life the tragedies and triumphs of the founding mother of the environmental movement. Following, White Bear will entertain with his acoustic folk rock. Burbank’s Willys-Knight will be on display both days and also some tame goats for the kids to pet. Take a tour of the Farm with a docent, and learn about Burbank’s history while identifying the trees that he planted. Enjoy fresh apple fritters washed down with cider that the kids can help press from apples.
