Once a year the population of Opp, Alabama increases dramatically when people from all over the south come to Opp for the Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo. This past years’ Rodeo drew an estimated 20,000 people to the festival.
The festival includes rattlesnake demonstrations, a songwriter competition, arts, crafts, and all kinds of food including fried rattlesnake. The festival also has big name musical acts on Friday and Saturday. The Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo is held the first full weekend in April.
