The Red River High Mountain Half Marathon is a beautiful, challenging, high altitude race from the historic mining town of Red River along Highway 578 through Red River’s Upper Valley. The 13.1 mile course runs along the Red River with amazing mountain peaks surrounding the runner, including Wheeler Peak, the highest point in New Mexico. You will begin at 8750 feet. The out and back course will gain approximately 700 feet on the way out, and the return is definitely the easier part of the run. This course is for the athlete who likes a challenge. When you finish our half marathon, you will feel like you have conquered the world!
