“Alligator Alley” Hosts Southern Reptile Expo This Weekend in Summerdale
Summerdale, AL – Local attraction Alligator Alley will host the annual Southern Reptile Breeders Expo from October 8-10. Dozens of vendors will be on-site to buy, sell, and trade reptiles, while visitors can enjoy all of the fun Alligator Alley has to offer.
Owner Wes Moore opened the alligator farm in 2004. Alligator Alley is home to hundreds of alligators and allows the animals to enjoy life in their natural habitat. This sanctuary provides a home to “nuisance” gators, which otherwise would face certain death. A nuisance gator is defined as one who has lost its fear of humans, thus being a danger to itself as well as to society. Alligator Alley transports the animals from unnatural areas to the alligator farm in Summerdale, AL. Moore is passionate about giving these animals a home, while also educating the public about the creatures in the process.
