Summer on the Farm at Sauder Village

The smell of fried chicken and homemade pie; the sight of children playing games in the yard; the taste of homemade ice cream; the sound of toe-tapping fiddle playing; the feel of soft biscuit dough between your fingers. A visit to Sauder Villages Summer on the Farm will engage all of your senses in one memorable afternoon! This annual event focuses on farm life of the early 20th century. Guests not only get to watch history reenacted, they get to experience it first hand through many activities and demonstrations planned for the day. Visitors can do everything from helping to make ice cream, butter, and rope, to participating in a spelling bee, washing on a scrub board and flailing wheat. There are so many activities going on that you may just feel you really have traveled back in time!
