Tenting at the Statehouse…A Civil War Encampment

Apr
17–18

Walk among soldier’s tents. Help fire cannon every hour, watch the Battery Surgeon treat wounds and disease, join the infantry in marching drills or help the Ladies Aid Society deliver comfort to the troops. It’s all part of The Statehouse Battery A Civil War Encampment at the Ohio Statehouse.

Visitors may observe or participate at stations where reenactors demonstrate life in a Union Army camp in the 1860s including food, clothing and leisure.

All activities are free and open to the public. School groups, class visits and adult groups welcome. For information, contact Mike Rupert at 614/728-4185 or [email protected]
