A Celebration of Arizona’s Military and Cultural History 1863-1912
Save the date for Tombstone, AZ’s newest event weekend. Come to Tombstone for a unique living history weekend featuring cultural, educational and entertaining activities centered around Arizona’s Territorial period 1863-1912.
Saturday, immerse yourself and your family in a living history camp filled with soldiers of the Territorial period. Experience the sights, sounds and smells of military life on the frontier. The Arizona Territorial Baseball League will be playing a demonstration game. Watch as the different military company’s compete in a drill competition on Historic Allen Street. Grab yourself a plate of the finest chuck wagon food as five chuck wagons compete for the title of best cook. Listen to Lee Anderson atop his wonder horse Concho, of the Arizona Historical Society, as he speaks on life on the frontier. Many other speakers and authors will be present at various locations to speak on various topics of historic interest. If you are so inclined gather your finest garments and join us at the Military Ball to round out your evening, period attire required, 16 and up, there is a fee for the Ball.
Sunday, check out the military encampment and stay for the non-motorized parade on Historic Allen Street at 11:00a.m. After enjoy the skillful dancing of La Paloma Ballet Folklorico of Tucson, AZ, as they perform the dances of the States of Mexico. Enjoy lectures and more military drills as we round out the weekend.
