Every Wednesday and Thursday. Features guided tours at 11am by naturalist Granny Sam Gahagan, $10/person; Storyteller Bill Carson hosts hayrides at 1 & 3pm, $5/person; at 1-2pm, be a part of the Monarch Butterfly Preservation Project with Judy Carson & Kit Trubey. Guests help find eggs, gather food for the larvae & release adult butterflies, free with guided tour, otherwise $3/person. Then from 1:45-3:15, enjoy informal live music by local musicians. Free.

Exit 85 or 86 off I-40 to US 221/NC 226 North. Follow 221/226 north to intersection where 226 branches off to the left. Take NC 226 north to the top of the mountain, turn right. Get on parkway, heading north to milepost 328.3.
