Lake Guide
Dickinson Reservoir
Dickinson Dam and Reservoir (Edward Arthur Patterson Lake), operated by the Bureau of Reclamation, is located in the prairie uplands where there are no natural lakes. The reservoir has about 1,100 surface acres and 22 miles of shoreline. Although small, it has provided new types of recreation for south-western North Dakota and is highly popular for camping, picnicking, swimming, boating, and fishing. Available species include walleye, largemouth bass, perch, pike, crappie, and bluegill. The Dickinson City Park Board administers the reservoir area for public recreational uses 7 days a week.
