Wirt County Pioneer Days

The 3rd Annual Wirt County Pioneer Days will be celebrated in Elizabeth, WV, on October 8, 2005. The traditions of the past will come alive as Elizabeth fills with adults and children dressed in 19th-century clothing, demonstrating the everyday life of the pioneers. Visitors will enjoy such things as music; square dancing, pioneer games, and demonstrations of blacksmithing, apple butter stirring, spinning, soap making, churning butter, carving, and unique sounds of hit and miss engines. Exhibits of old photographs from Wirt County’s past will be on display. The event will be held in courthouse square, Elizabeth, WV.
