The Drums of August: A Civil War Reenactment

Jul
18–19

One of the largest Civil War reenactments in Ohio, hundreds of Civil War enthusiasts establish an encampment and recreate several days in the lives of two Civil War battalions, their families, and other accompanists. They will spend their time preparing meals ? as would have been done at a Civil War-era campsite ? tending to their uniforms and weapons, and preparing for their next battle.

Visitors can mingle with the reenactors, who will share information on their lives. At 2:00 p.m. each day, the muskets and cannon fire disrupts the tranquility of the north pasture as a battle transforms the grounds.
