National Frontier Trails Center

During America’s expansion in the 1800s, three grat routes lead pioneers west – the Santa Fe, Oregon and Califoirnia Trails. All three began in or near Independence, known as the Queen City of the Trails. Relive one of the most captivating sagas in American history at the National Frontier Trails Center. Traders made fortunes by daring to cross hostile plains and families left loved ones and graved half a continent of wildernes to fulfill the American Dream. these are stories that will touch your heart and speak to your spirit of adventure.The only museum, interpretive center and research library in the nation devoted to the Oregon, California, and Santa Fe Trails.
