Annual Art Fair & Winefest

May
15

The Annual Downtown Washington Fine Art Fair & Winefest will be held in historic downtown Washington the third weekend in May. This unique festival in the heart of Missouri wine country draws visitors each spring from across the Midwest.

Over 60 wines from Missouri wineries will be poured for tasting, and knowledgeable winery representatives will be on hand to talk about their products at this, the largest all-Missouri winery tasting event. All wines poured in tasting will be available for sale, with a 10% discount on case purchases, mix or match. Participating wineries this year include Adam Puchta Winery, Augusta Winery, Bias Winery, Blumenhof Winery, Crown Valley Winery, La Dolce Vita Winery, Montelle Winery, Mount Pleasant Winery, Oak Glenn Winery, Robller Vineyards, St. James Winery, Stone Hill Winery, Summit Lake Winery and Tower Rock Winery.

Complimentary cheese and crackers are provided in the tasting area under the wine tent, with a variety of snacks and gourmet foods on sale in the park. Admission to the wine tasting is $15 in advance, $20 at the door, and includes a souvenir wineglass. Visitors to the wine tasting area will also have the opportunity to win a special wine basket prepared by a participating winery. Hours are: 5-10 PM Friday; Noon-10 PM Saturday; and Noon-5 PM Sunday.

There will be continuous entertainment throughout the weekend while patrons can sit under the rest tent to enjoy the atmosphere, the music and the wine.

Downtown Washington, Inc. also proudly presents the Annual Art Fair (formerly sponsored in part by the Mid-Missouri Fine Arts Society). Held adjacent to the wine tasting pavilion, the Art Fair is a juried selection of over 50 Mid-western artists featuring exhibitions and sales. Admission is free and hours are Friday 5-8 PM; Saturday 10-8 PM; and Sunday 11-4 PM.

Washington is an Amtrak stop! For tourist information, call 888-7WASHMO or visit the Downtown Washington, Inc. web site.
