Forrest-Streight Raid – A Civil War Battle & Living History

Apr
11–12

The Blountsville Historical Society & Clanton’s Brigade of Forrest’s Cavalry Corps invite you to a front-row view of life in the 1860s.

Tour military and civilian encampments, listen to storytellers and musicians, shop with sutlers selling wares of the 1860s and watch military drills. At 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday, smell the smoke from canon fire as you watch a recreation of Civil War battles.

The Covered Bridges (Cowboy Action) Shooters will present a jail escape or robbery at noon; demonstrations (spinning & basket weaving) will be held at intervals during the weekend. In addition, on Saturday, see a 1860s fashion review and period dance. Participate in a period church service on Sunday morning.
